How many new members did your website bring in last week?

This may seem like a strange question to be asked out of the blue, but stay with me for a minute.

Thrive is a Digital Marketing Agency that serves more than 50 YMCAs across the country. One of our missions is to share the best practices we have gathered from working with YMCAs. It is one of the ways we give back to the YMCA community.

As we built more than 50 ySites, we felt we had solved all the problems that we had uncovered. Our websites displayed the information YMCAs asked for - programs, events, newsfeeds, employee highlights, multiple branches, jobs modules…

I then asked our local YMCA the question, “How many new members did your website bring in last week?”

And they answered, “I don’t know if it brought in any.”

No wonder everyone looks at a website as an expense. So I met with the yTeam and told them we were going to solve this problem. This led to a product development push that allowed us to launch The Membership Machine. A collection of tools designed solely to engage new member enrollment.

One of the tools is The Silent Salesman. He works 24 hours per day, seven days per week collecting sales leads from the bottom right corner of your website. When a visitor clicks on him, they are guided to a landing page where they enter their contact information so they can get their 7 day pass and the contact information is then emailed to your sales staff. One more sales lead...

Knowing if your website is generating as much revenue as possible is an important step towards meeting your 2016 financial goals. If you don’t know this answer, ask your Membership Director to start a log of new members and how many of them came to you through your website.

If you would like to know more about how you can use The Silent Salesman to increase revenue, send me an email or call me directly at 419-776-7000 x200.
