New Additions To Google Ads

Google Adwords provides several different kinds of ads. With the internet ever changing and the way in which businesses reach their target audiences, we as marketers need to change the way we promote products and services. Google has started to push those different methods into their AdWords accounts.

When creating an ad in AdWords, you have the following options:

A text ad is the ads you see lining the right hand column of a search you have done on Google.

Image Ads are in the Display Network, and show on all sites that are part of that network. For example, if you are on Tonypacko.com, looking to buy some pickles & peppers for your next party but decide to wait and leave the site. Then you are looking at an article on CNN.com, you will most likely see that exact same pickles & peppers flavor on the site.

Display ads work based on interests, remarketing lists and keywords. These ads are a great way to draw in those potential customers that may have left their shopping cart to browse other sites or are still thinking about their purchase.

Text ads and Display ads are known as Dynamic Ads. These ads match people's location and content they are searching for or viewing.

Social ads are somewhat new to Google. Google Plus allows ads to be placed on the social network, so you can share or purchase right there. An example of this type of ad:

Engagement ads are also a newer addition to Google AdWords. At times, ads can be hard to grab someone's attention - especially considering people are hit with thousands of ads a day. They can be tiring and at times irritating. Interactive ads are meant to engage the viewer and you only pay when they interact with the ad. You can choose from four different types of these engagement ads:

There are so many options to choose from!

Video ads many of you have probably seen when you are watching a clip on YouTube. Building a video ad on Google will help raise awareness of your brand, product, client etc.

General Purpose ads are conveniently made by Google - all you need to provide is a graphic and some content. They throw in a little animation and poof! You have an ad. How nifty is that!?
