Is Facebook really trying to make our lives easier when it comes to creating and managing ad campaigns?
I know I have been writing about Facebook a lot lately....but they keep changing things! Newest feature changes on Facebook? The ads dashboard and the way ads are set up.
When you ads dashboard switches over, Facebook gives you a tour of what is new and how your reporting will be different. So far, I like the new layout...I just don't know if I am going to like the change in how ads function. The layout under campaigns is super convenient and very clear. Your spend today is listed, what you've spent on the campaign so far, how many clicks you have etc; all laid out for you. Very nice Facebook.
Another change is the way you can pause and start campaigns and ads. Instead of a drop down with options such as pause, active or delete, you can now toggle a button in the active or inactive modes.
Ads can now be made into Ad Sets. So the campaign filters into ad sets which filter into multiple ads. When the ads are made, it no longer shows the mobile, news feed and right column ads separately. They are listed all as one and it shows the mobile version as the default. What I would really like to see is the numbers based on each type of ad, mobile, newsfeed and right column. It doesn't seem like Facebook has gotten that far yet in their own reporting....
It will be interesting to see where Facebook takes the Ads Manager next. What do you think Facebook is missing when it comes to their Ads Manager?
