Remarkable Speakers - Who To Look For

Posted by Brittany Norton on Tue, Sep 03, 2013 @ 09:55 AM

At Inbound 13 we saw several great speakers that made points about Inbound Marketing that many companies should start adopting. We want to add some of those people to our "Remarkable Speakers" list to watch for.

Remarkable Speakers:

Seth Godin: Best Selling Author & Inbound 13 Keynote Speaker

"We will not cross the street for average."

Seth Godin: Thinking Backwards

Watching Seth Godin at Inbound 13 was amazing. His speech was worth watching. The original Hubspot Keynote was taken down, but watch one of his other keynotes. They are just as good and informative. Make sure that the information you are pushing out to the public is worth the whole 140 characters or a post on Facebook.

Scott Harrison: Founder and CEO of Charity: Water

Charity: Water - September Campaign

Scott Harrison is not only a great speaker but he has an incredible story. Charity: Water is an organization that brings an every day necessity to villages and countries that we take for granted on a daily basis. His road to creating this organization is a difficult one but an incredibly inspiring one.  Out of all of these videos, please make sure you watch this one. You will not regret it.

Gary Vaynerchuk: Keynote Speaker at Inbound 2012, Author, Entrepreneur

Gary's Keynote from PCBC 2012 When Gary speaks - you listen. He has some great ideas.

An exerpt from Gary's Inbound 2012 Keynote - If you know anything about Gary Vee, you will know there is some colorful language in all of his speeches. You've been warned. He's passionate, and it works.

Arianna Huffington: President & Editor in Chief at the Huffington Post

Screen Shot 2013 08 27 at 1.21.19 PM"Lean back in order to jump higher. That's what cats do."

Arianna's Inbound 13 Keynote

Arianna gave a speech that leaned more on how we as leaders need to tap into our own creativity and wisdom. She also points out the importance of sleep and taking naps. The Huffington Post has two Nap Rooms.  I say we all go work for the Huffington Post. You can nap while you're at work? I'm down. Who is with me?

Susan Cain: Keynote Speaker Inbound 2012 Author of Quiet: The Power Of Introverts

Introverts are not people that need "fixing" - sometimes they have some of the best ideas. Susan Cain points out the importance and power of introverts.

David Meerman Scott: Marketing Speaker, Leadership Strategist

376375101 640"Nobody cares about your products (Except you)."

David Meerman Scott's Keynote at Inbound 2012

David Meerman Scott is a great speaker to listen to. He's passionate about Marketing & PR - but he is more concerned with how "real" businesses are when it comes to their techniques. If you are making a pitch to a media outlet - make sure it is a good one. When using images for your marketing pieces - don't use the multi-cultural stock photos that may or may not make your business look like you care about everyone in your target audience. Try using real people from your office. Connect with your audience.

These speakers are some of the best we have seen and understand that marketing is not only an industry or even a job. There are different "types" of marketers, ways of marketing and ideas behind marketing. There are different ways of getting a message to a customer - whether it is by using Social Media, or Digital Marketing - the ways in which we connect with our audiences is constantly changing. Watch each of these speakers and learn their ways of connecting with others. You might learn something new!
