"How To" with Facebook for Business

Posted by Ian Hartten on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 @ 04:45 PM
Facebook can be a very confusing world if you do not know how to use it correctly. Since the creation of Facebook, there have been many different ways to use it. Many people join the network so they can stay in touch with old friends, family members and even connect with people they just met. Now the network is popular for business use as well. If your business is not on Facebook then it should be.

Interaction with customers and comments made on the page wall is the most important thing for a business page in social media. Respond to comments, whether they are negative or positive, make it a point to offer solutions and positive feedback. Getting to know your audience and understanding customer needs can help you and your company excel very quickly. The second most important thing on Facebook, besides company information, is pictures. This may seem like a silly concept but visually people create feelings around pictures much faster than words.

Facebook has a plethora of tools for you to use to promote your company. Be creative and informative. Your customers make your company successful - cater to that concept. Don't expect to have over 100 "likes" in the first week you put your company on Facebook. Social media takes time and if you have the patience - it will work. Make the feeling of the page match the feeling of your office space. When you decorate an office you want it to have a certain feeling. Create the feeling of the page the same way. Providing good content is still the main point. Post away and the customers will come.
